Lookup Del Norte County Jail Records

Del Norte County inmate records for the local jail are searched through the sheriff's public roster, while sentenced state prisoners and federal or immigration detainees use separate systems. A Del Norte County jail roster search can show current custody, recent release status, booking facts, charges, bail, and public physical descriptors. The roster is useful for people booked after local arrests, but it is not the final court record and it does not cover every person once custody transfers outside the county jail.

Del Norte County Jail Roster Overview

The official local custody source is the Del Norte Citizen RIMS Incarcerated People page, linked from the Del Norte County Sheriff's Office as the Sheriff's Public Information Portal. Research confirmed that the inmate module is enabled, the public roster is free, and no public login was required. The sheriff page says the portal includes current incarcerated persons, wanted persons, public bulletins, and activity information where the module is enabled.

The roster covers Del Norte County Jail bookings. It can include arrests made by the sheriff, CHP, Crescent City Police Department, and other local justice agencies. It does not search Pelican Bay State Prison, CDCR transfers, BOP prisoners, or ICE detainees. A person can also be missing from the jail roster because the arrest is juvenile, sensitive, too new, sealed, or outside the county jail system. In those cases, use the jail phone line, VINE, public-records requests, court records, CDCR CIRIS, BOP, or ICE ODLS.

Use the Del Norte County Inmate Roster

Start with the official portal rather than a commercial search page. Citizen RIMS has the current Del Norte County jail roster path and the underlying public data fields. If the page loads as a dynamic app, give it time to render and use the search controls when available. In a narrow mobile view, scrolling or browser find may be faster than waiting for every control to display.

  1. Open the sheriff page and choose the Sheriff's Public Information Portal.
  2. Go to Incarcerated People at the Citizen RIMS site.
  3. Search by first name, last name, or scroll through the current and recent records.
  4. Open the person's card to read status, booking date, charges, bail, and arresting agency.
  5. Check the status line before assuming the person remains in custody.
  6. Use the court records page for filed charges after the prosecutor opens a case.

The Citizen RIMS count endpoint returned 122 records during research on May 31, 2026. That count included 78 In Custody and 44 Released records because the Del Norte configuration keeps recent releases visible for seven days. A roster hit is a search result, not a guarantee that the person is still housed in the jail.

If the portal is unavailable, call the Del Norte County Jail at (707) 464-4191 or use California VINE for custody status and release notification. The sheriff website did not confirm a separate official mobile app, so the mobile-friendly Citizen RIMS website remains the official online roster path.

Del Norte County Roster Fields

The public app binds first and last name fields for inmate searches. The roster also supports list navigation and card expansion, which matters because a booking record can have nested charges and separate arrest details. Booking records may appear before the bookingComplete flag is true, so very recent records can be visible while jail processing continues.

Del Norte County Inmate Profile Data

A Del Norte County inmate profile can show more than a name and charge. The public fields include separate arrest and booking timestamps, original arresting agency, arrest location when available, release status, total bail, and charge rows. The configuration hides mugshots, date of birth, and real address. Housing location and court date were not observed in inspected public output.

Del Norte County Booking Process

The custody manual describes intake as more than data entry. Staff verify arrest or commitment paperwork, check medical acceptability, search the person and property for contraband, create an admission record, photograph and fingerprint the person, inventory property, and separate new admissions from the general population during admission and classification. The manual also says every adult or juvenile detained in the facility is entitled to at least three completed phone calls immediately on admission and no later than three hours after arrest. Custodial parents receive two extra calls to arrange care for minor children.

Classification considers level, age, sex, legal status, special needs, and behavior. Males and females are housed separately. Special-management factors can include protective custody, mental-health concerns, escape risk, violence risk, gang affiliation, suicide risk, medical issues, and physical impairment. Booking charges on the roster are not final court charges. The District Attorney reviews cases and filed charges are tracked through Del Norte Superior Court records after filing.

Del Norte County Visit Rules

The official Del Norte jail page did not publish a current visit schedule, visit length, dress code, or video-visitation vendor in the researched source set. The custody manual provides the rules framework instead. Visitors must register, provide valid government ID, and state their relationship to the inmate. Professional visitors must show proof of role. Visits are subject to space, schedule, safety, security, staffing, and classification limits.

Contact Del Norte County Inmates

The custody manual says inmate phones are available in dayrooms at scheduled times for collect calls unless unsafe. All calls except verified attorney calls are monitored and recorded. Inmates cannot receive ordinary phone calls, and messages are delivered only for verified emergencies. Phones may be turned off during facility emergencies or by a supervisor or Jail Commander. Attorney phone access must be reasonable, non-recorded, and free to the attorney and inmate.

Mail rules are also restrictive. Packages are not accepted for inmates. Mail must include the sender's full name, and no correspondence is allowed between an inmate and the victim or alleged victim of the crime for which the person is incarcerated. No incoming or outgoing mail between institutions and no in-house mail between inmates is allowed. Confirm the current mail address format directly with the jail before sending anything.

Messages should not be sent through unofficial social-media accounts or third-party pages. Use the jail, court, VINE, or records-request channels when the issue affects custody status, release, charges, or an official document.

Del Norte County Inmate Funds

The official Del Norte County Jail page identifies Access Corrections as the money-deposit vendor for people currently housed in the jail. Deposits can be made online, by phone at 866-394-0490, or at the lobby kiosk. The custody manual also says visitors can mail in a postal money order, which staff deposit after the inmate signs and a receipt is issued. Commissary is available to eligible inmates who have funds and are not on disciplinary restriction.
